Hey Ish! Have you checked out the Toronto D&D group? Their focus is mainly on D&D (as you may imagine, lol), but they’ve got fantastic DMs who’ll help you out no matter what experience level you’ve got with the game 🙂 I played my very first session of D&D with them maybe a year and a bit ago, and I’ve been hooked ever since!

    And also, pleased to meetcha!

Thank YOU for creating a cool forums! I love grinding for virtual currency, lmao, so the Buckazoids are super cool, and I LOVE that I found a rank up level in a mystery chest! Super fun, haha.

Last GOOD game that I sat down and actually finished beginning to end was Mutant: Year Zero – Road to Eden. I’m not a big fan of post-apocalyptic settings, but I really dug the characters and world-building of this one. My team was pretty OP by the last 1/3rd of the game though, which unfortunately made it pretty easy to half ass it through a lot of fights, haha. What I loved most about the game was (at least in the beginning) how much sneaking and careful picking off of lone enemies was required.

What platforms do you have? All I’ve really been playing lately is my Nintendo Switch, so my suggestions might be pretty limited.

Jonnie – how’d you enjoy the Splatoon 2 demo? I’m absolute shite at third-person shooter type games, but damn, I love Splatoon 2, it’s too damn charming! 😛 I’m hyped that they’re bringing back Splatfest for one last time; I’ll definitely be playing again for that (GO TEAM MAYO!).

The weather has been changing its mind a lot lately, yes, lol.

I’ve got a window open right now though – a kinda like the crisp breeze. My apartment gets super hot in the summer.

The entirety of the Killer Bean movie is epic, but here’s the first scene… where a bunch of anthropomorphic bean gang members are doing some kind of dance routine:

I’m torn between Mass Effect (1st one) and Dragon Age: Origins, but I guess I gotta give the title to DA:O. Love the characters, lore and gameplay, and *especially* the themes. I find the plight of the Mages to be really affecting, ditto for the Elves. And also, I would literally die for Leliana, lololol.

I’m actually doing well during this mess, which is surprising, because mental health issues have been a BIG problem for me over the past… my entire life, lolol. But I’m holding up okay!

So I’ll also offer to lend an ear or shoulder to lean on if anyone wants to chat. I also don’t have any formal training in the mental health fields, but I’ve got experience with it from the lifed experiences perspective.

Hm. I haven’t re-watched it in a bit, but I ADORE Pushing Daisies. Its off-beat sense of… everything really appeals to me, haha. It’s only two seasons, and it’s one of the few shows I really had trouble accepting the cancellation of. And I tend to PREFER shows that only have a couple seasons.

Which villagers are on your island, and who’s your favourite so far? I’ve got Renee (a purple rhino who likes to say “Yo yo yo!”), Flip (gymrat monkey bro), Puddles (a frog who hasn’t endeared herself to me YET), Nan (a goat who always calls me “kid”) and my FAVOURITE – Sherb, a blue goat who talks a lot about talking to the bugs in his walls, haha. He is absolutely precious.

Add away, Princess (why does this come off sounding sarcastic, haha?)! Hyped to chat about AC with someone, but I’ll use the other thread for that.

Oh god, my most watched show is probably Law & Order or something, by a technicality – not because I love it that much (I do enjoy it though) but because it used to be the *only* thing halfway worthwhile on the basic cable package my parents’ had at home, looool.

Weirdly, I don’t re-watch shows that much, even the ones I love. Though, I’m now reminded that I need to re-watch Pushing Daisies, so thanks!

The game that launched my love of video games was Skyrim for sure.

Oooh, I really love Skyrim! My most played Elder Scrolls game is Morrowind though; it was one of the first PC games I bought for myself when I moved from console gaming to PC gaming. SUCH great memories. Except the Cliff Racers, god the Cliff Racers… 😐

My literal treatment is an antidepressants cocktail & therapy. Otherwise, I keep grounded and mentally healthy by making sure I stay busy or at least distracted for most of my alone time, and make sure I have at least one ongoing project in my life to provide me with a sense of purpose.

Hey, why not! Friend code is: SW-4426-3026-2427. Initially bought a Switch because I thought I’d play a lot in handheld mode to replace my 3DS. The thing has stayed docked for like 80% of my gaming time, haha.

I’m from Toronto (west end, best end!), and lately I’ve been playing lots of Dauntless and Animal Crossing, while slowly working through a couple single-player games.

This is basically stuff I have been + will be running for my friends on a private Discord, but feel free to steal any ideas:
    – watch movies online together via Watch2Gether (which I noticed you guys have already done)
    – play Jackbox games (or other games that can be played co-operatively, like visual novel/dating sim games, etc).
    – schedule an online viewing of the High Park cherry blossom stream
    – virtual pub social (with possible drinking games!)
    – virtual karaoke (example setup & experience here: https://www.vulture.com/2020/03/how-to-host-zoom-karaoke-while-coronavirus-social-distancing.html)
    – bad fanfic readings

That’s about all I got for now 😛

I remember Covert Affairs ads running while I was watching *definitely not weird stuff* on Showcase back in the day, haha. Never seen it though!

I’ve been binging the first season of The Handmaid’s Tale on Crave, which is simultaneously so easy to binge but so hard to binge. Also hyped to see Killing Eve season 3, when it hits streaming sites. Gotta watch the last bit of Bojack, too.

Hello hello! I’m apparently a sentient hyena using the internet. Some of you may know me from the days of yore.

Nonsense aside – my name is Grace, and I’m like, geek-adjacent. I love video games (the nostalgia of growing up with a Sega Genesis and also the current wonders and sociability of the Switch), weird movies, and the occasional graphic novel/comic collection. Still have a bad habit of collecting action figures/statuettes/etc, haha.
